Marin Béa (Double bass)
Born in 1971, Marin Béa first played the piano and the cello and graduated
with honors from the CNR of Perpignan and Versailles.
He is subsequently introduced to the double bass and revels in playing it.
After graduating from the CNSM in Lyon (where he studied with JP. Celea and
B. Cazauran), he further improves his skills with several musicians: L. Lanzilotta,
B. Kostiak... He works with different French orcestras and music schools (Co-soloist
at the Montpellier orchestra, professor at the conservatoire in Chamberry
and Toulouse...). His interest for traditional music leads him to contribute
to various ensembles (Yiddish and Gipsy music, tango, traditional music from
Croatia and Ireland...)
As a government-certified music teacher, he is currently a professor at the
CNR in Bayonne (France) where he is also a soloist for the regional orchestra.
Philippe Bourlois (Accordion & Bandoneon)
Philippe Bourlois was born in 1970. At age 6, he received his first accordion
lesson from his grandfather.
He is a prize-winner in international competitions (1st prize in Klingenthal
in 1988, 1st prize Arrasate in 1995) and contributes to varied formations
playing either the accordion (LIOUB "Love and yiddish songs") or
the bandoneon ("Opération Tango"). He currently teaches accordion
at the Conservatoire National de Région in Saint-Etienne (France) as
a Professor and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique
de Paris as an Assistant Professor.
Lin Chin Ping (Yang-Ching)
Born in 1976, Lin Chin Ping began playing the Yang-Ching (Chinese Harpsichord)
in her native town of Taiwan. She majored in Yang-Ching at the Chinese music
department of the Shao Ming College in Taichong and graduated in 1991. That
same year, she wins the first prize at a regional Yang-Ching competition in
Chayi.
Between 1992 and 1995, she works with Prof. Xi Li Gui from the National Central
Conservatory in Beijing, Lingling Li (National Superior Conservatory of Beijing)
and Guo Minqing (Shanghai Conservatory).
In 1996 she graduates from Taiwan's National Accademy of Arts (specializing
in Yang-Ching) and wins the first prize at the Taiwan National Yang-Ching
Competition. She completes her education in 1999 when she graduates from the
University of Chinese Culture (specializing in Yang-Ching). She is currently
a professor at the National University of Arts in Taiwan. Lin Chin Ping also
performs regularly in numerous international festivals.
Nicolas Crosse (Double bass)
Nicolas Crosse was born in 1979 in Nice where he begins studying classical
music and the double bass with Elizabeth Vanthomme. After studying for a year
with Thierry Barbé (a super soloist at the Paris Opera orchestra),
in 2000, he is accepted at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur
de Musique where he studies with Jean Paul Celea.
In 2004 he graduates with honors as a double bass major and in 2005 he enters
the Conservatoire's advanced performer program ("classe de perfectionnement").
From his work on contemporary music with Jean-Paul Celea he gains an extended
knowledge of the 20th century repertoire, which leads him to colaborations
with composers.
He contributes to several creations, including "Torrente" for double
bass and ensemble by Luis Rizo Salom, "Cronica del oprimido" by
Lucas Fagin for double bass and electronic device. While working with the
"Ensemble Intercontemporain", he meets Stockhausen and contributes
to the B.A Zimmerman tribute concert conducted by Hans Zender at the Cité
de la Musique in Paris. As a student, he also worked as a substitute in national
orchestras: Paris City Orchestra, Paris Opera Orchestra, "Ensemble Intercontemporain".
Aude Giuliano (Accordion)
Born in 1984, she began playing the accordion at age 5. At age 10, she is
admitted at the "Conservatoire National de Région" in Nice
(France) where she studies Cello under Roland Audibert, Frédéric
Audibert and Guillermo Lefever. She also spends 8 years as an intern at the
"National and International Music and Accordion Center" in Saint
Sauves d'Auvergne (France) created by Jacques MORNET. As a young talented
accordion player she wins several 1st prices at the international accordion
competition in Klingenthal (Germany) in 1996, 1999 and 2001 (in the under
12, under 15 and under 18 categories, respectively). In 2001, she is also
awarded the Junior World Trophey in Lorient (France). In 2002, she wins the
1st prize at the international competition in Castelfidardo in Italy, which
had not been awarded to a French artist since 1987.
Wim Hoogewerf (Guitar)
After comprehensive music studies (encompassing harmony, counterpoint, analysis,
educational methods and music history) at the Conservatorium in Amsterdam,
he graduated with honors from Dick VISSER's guitar class. He further perfected
his playing with Oscar CACERES and Betho DAVEZAC in Paris and later worked
with Per-Olof JOHNSON at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Copenhagen (Denmark).
His vast repertoire includes classical pieces aswell as the most contemporary guitar music. He performed as a soloist in various concerts and recitals: Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, Gaudeamus Festival, Sonopolis Festival in Venice, Holland Festival, American Festival of Microtonal Music, Radio France, etc. He was also invited to perform at the Carnegie Recital Hall in New York.

Mathias Lopez (Double bass)
Mathias Lopez was born in Bayonne in 1978. Très tôt passionné
par la musique, il fait ses classes au CNR de Bayonne en analyse, orgue et
contrebasse, instrument auquel il se consacre entièrement à
partir de l'âge de 21 ans.
After further improving his skills at the CNR in Bordeaux, he studies with famous double bass players such as Libero Lanzilotta, Thomas Martin, Daniel Marillier or Giuseppe Ettore.
In 2001, he is accepted in the prestigious double bass class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Lyon. After four years studying with Bernard Cazauran he graduates with highest honors.
He gains orchestra experience working with the Lyon "Opéra National"
orchestra, the Paris city orchestra and the "Ensemble 415" directed
by Chiara Banchini.
Mathias is fascinated by the differences between cultures and likes to play on the versatility of his instrument in classical, jazz, salsa or gipsy repertoires.
Mathias Lopez is currently a member of the French Republican Guard orchestras.
Florent Pujuila (Clarinet)
Florent Pujuila is originally from Perpignan where he studied at the Conservatoire National de Région before moving to Paris and Lyon where he completed his education at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique with Jacques Di Donato. He graduated with honors in 2002 and received a specific award for a music piece he had written.
In 1997, Florent Pujuila wins the first prize at the European Competition
of Picardie. In September 2003 he also receives the third prize in the International
"ARD" conpetition in Munich (Germany). He is currently a clarinet
soloist with the Paris orchestral ensemble (Ensemble Orchestral de Paris).
Julien Quentin (Piano)
Julien Quentin was born in Paris in 1974. He begins his musical education
at the Geneva Music Conservatory with Alexis Golovine. In 2002, he received
an "Artist Diploma" from the Indiana University of Bloomington (USA)
where he studied with Emile Naoumoff. He was an assistant professor for a
year at the Indiana University and received the Presser Award. In 2003, he
graduates from the Juilliard School in New York where he studied with György
Sándor. He also worked with Badura-Skoda, Nikita Magaloff, György
Sebök and Earl Wild. Julien Quentin won the first prize at the International
competition in Córdoba (Argentina) in 1991 and at the "Città
di Stresa" competition in Italy.
He has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Córdoba Philharmonic
Orchestra and the Indiana University Orchestra conducted by Eduardo Alonso-Crespo
or Paul Biss. He is regularly featured in international music festivals and
performs in Europe at Verbier, Lucern, Schwetzingen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
or Radio France Montpellier... In North America, he also appeared in Festivals
at Shandelee, Ventura and Virginia Arts in the United States. He also performed
in concerts broadcasted on national radio in Canada, the United States, Japan
and several European countries.
Jean Baptiste Sagnier (Double bass)
Born in 1976, Jean Baptiste Sagnier began his musical studies with the piano
and then took up the bass at age 12.
In 1995 he graduates at the top of Daniel Jacques's class at the Conservatoire
National de Region in Tour (France) and he is accepted at the Conservatoire
National Superieur de Musique in Paris where he studies with Jean Marc Rollez
and Jean Paul Celea. He graduates at the top of his class in 2001.
Since 1997, has been recurringly playing with prestigious French Orchestras
(Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National de France, Opéra de Rouen
).
In 2001 and 2002 he was a member of the national octet ensemble ("Octuor
de France") conducted by Jean-Louis Sajot.
Since 2000, Jean Baptiste Sagnier has been a member of the baroque ensemble
Quam Dilecta and a principal double bass player of a French Regional Symphonic
Orchestra (Orchestre Symphonique Région Centre Tours).
Christelle Séry (Guitar)
Christelle Séry is originally from the south east of France, close
to Nice. She first studied music with Ako Ito and Henri Dorigny before attending
the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. She graduated
majoring in guitar performance, chamber music and educational methods. As
a guitar soloist, she won prizes at the internal competiotions in Lempdes,
Bath and Tokyo.
Her appreciation of today's music inspires her to work with young composers'
music and to join the Cairn ensemble as soon as 1997.
Meanwhile, she has also been exploring improvised musics with the "compagnie
Sevilla", drummer Eric Groleau or flutist Sylvaine Hélary in surprising
duets where voice meets amplified instruments in a variation of sound aesthetics.
She is featured in choregrapher François Raffinot's latest work (2006):
"Set" for seven women. In 2007 she will perform in K Lear, an adaptation
from a Shakespeare play by Marie Montegani in which sign language plays a
predominant part.
Sandra Tavard (Viola)
Born in 1974, Sandra Tavard began playing the viola at age 7. She studies
at the Conservatoire National de Région in Montpellier (France) and
graduates with honors in 1992. In 1999, she graduates from the advanced performer
studies at the Conservatoire National de Région in Paris. Finally,
she completes her musical education at the Conservatoire National Supérieur
de Musique in Paris where she graduated with honors in 2003 and received a
diploma equivalent to a Bachelor of Music degree.
Benjamin Valette (Guitar)
Born in 1986, Benjamin Valette began playing the guitar at age 7 under the
supervision of Florentino Calvo. In 1998 he was accepted in Pedro Ibanezs
class at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris. While studying there,
he also meets Alberto Ponce, Judicaël Perroy, Jean-Marc Zvellenreuther
and Olivier Chassin during study sessions or masterclasses.
He is a recurring performer at the International Guitar Meeting in Antony (France) where his ensemble plays Steve Reichs Electric Counterpoint. As a member of the plectrum ensemble "l'Estudiantina d'Argenteuil", he regularly performs as a soloist or together with the symphonic or chamber music orchestras.
